P is for Pumpkin

Hello all you kids and kids at heart. I’m so glad you joined me today!

It’s kind of cold here. What’s it like at your house? The weather is changing and so is Miss Robin’s podcast. It’s a perfect time to do something different, don’t you think?

During this time I’d like to share some special children’s stories that mean a lot to me especially during the holidays. It’s Miss Robin’s way of showing her brave, kind and different heart to you.

Today’s author is Miss Kathy-jo Wargin! She is the bestselling author of more than fifty books for adults and children. With more than 1.2 million copies sold! Wow, that’s a lot!! Miss Kathy-jo has earned national recognition for award-winning titles like her children’s book called “The Legend of Sleeping Bear.”

The book I’m going to share with you today is called P is for Pumpkin and it celebrates the wonders of the fall season.

Don’t you just love the fall? With cooler weather and fun decorations hanging in the windows. It’s also a time when some children go trick-or-treating or have fun harvest festivals at their churches and community centers.

In this wonderful book, Miss Kathy-jo uses the alphabet to help kids journey through God’s harvest blessings. Along the way, you will discover just how much there is to be thankful for!

You can purchase Miss Kathy-jo’s books on Amazon or wherever books are sold! They would be a great gift to give during this holiday season. Miss Robin and Stubby the Cat give P is for Pumpkin 2 thumbs up! That’s how much we like it!

Now, onto what we’ve been waiting for, our featured story

Ready, Set, here we go!

Purchase P is for Pumpkin here.

So now it’s your turn, kids. Pause the podcast and discuss the questions with someone you love and trust.

  1. Can you name a couple things you are thankful for? Try using the alphabet just like our friend Miss Kathy-jo did. Start with the letter A and have your loved ones play along.
  2. What was one of the signs of autumn we can see at night? I’ll give you a hint, it starts with the letter M and hangs out in the sky.
  3. What shined brightly and had a big grin? Here’s a hint, it starts with the letter J and on October 31st you’ll see a lot of them on people’s porches.

Thank you for sharing your time with me. These short children’s stories feel like the old time “Sit around the Radio” broadcast popular in the past. It’s a place my heart often yearns to return to. A place where families gathered together, listening to stories that made them laugh and cry!

Do you have a favorite book you like to read with your family? Maybe you know someone who writes their own stories? Maybe that’s you. Well, Miss Robin would love to hear about it.

So visit me at  www.robinmarie.org  and share your story. As always bring your adult with you. There you will find all my podcasts with show notes for our listening impair friends. Plus, many more  resources for you and your family, like coloring sheets and real pictures of Stubby the cat.

Can’t wait to hear from you.

I praise you God because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

PSALM 139: 14-16
