I Will Not Be Afraid

Hey Kids and Kids at heart!

I’m so glad you are back with me. I’ve been waiting for you.

With so many bad things happening in our world sometimes Miss Robin gets afraid. Oftentimes mommys and daddys watch the news and that can be scary when you don’t understand what is going on.

Have you ever been afraid?

Well, today’s author Miss Michelle Medlock Adams has written a story that I know will help you feel better.

Miss Michelle is an award-winning journalist and best-selling author of more than 100 books.  She lives with her husband, Jeff, in Southern Indiana. She’s a grandma and has 2 dogs and 2 cats. How about that?

When she is not writing or teaching she enjoys fishing and watching Indiana basketball! Wow! She sounds pretty fun don’t you think?

When Miss Michelle was in first grade her teacher encouraged her to write rhyming poetry, in fact, her poem earned first place in her class.

Have you ever written a story? Would you like to? Oftentimes little children who can’t write start by drawing pictures that tell a story instead. That’s what Miss Robin did.

Today’s story “I Will Not Be Afraid”  was created by Miss Michelle to encourage kids and kids at heart like you and me that they don’t need to be afraid. God is with them.

That makes me feel better. What about you?

If you would like to buy this book or any of Miss Michelle’s other wonderful children’s stories you can find them on Amazon or on her website at www.michellemedlockadams.com. Miss Robin and Stubby the cat give her books 2 thumbs up! That’s how much we like them! In fact we have five of them already!

Be on the lookout for Miss Michelle newest children’s books “Cuddle-up Prayers” and “I Love You Bigger.”

Now, onto what we’ve been waiting for, our featured story

Ready, Set, here we go!

So now it’s your turn, kids. Pause the podcast and discuss the questions with someone you love and trust

  1. What kind of things are you afraid of?
  2. Have you ever thought about God watching over you? Where do you think He watches from?
  3. Have you ever said a prayer? When?
  4. How about writing a prayer with your mommies and daddies help?  It could go something like this: “God, I know You are here with me, and I will not be afraid.” Amen.
  5. The next time something happens that scares you remember that you are always in God’s care and grace. He loves you and protects you.

Thank you for sharing your time with me. These short children’s stories feel like the old time “Sit around the Radio” broadcast popular in the past and I hope they bring you closer as a family.

Do you have a favorite book you like to read? Maybe you have even written or drawn a story of your own. Miss Robin would love to hear about it or see your pictures. Bring your adult and visit me at  www.robinmarie.org and share what you have created with me.

As always, your loved ones can find me Miss Robin in lots of places. On Instagram, Facebook and again at my special place www.robinmarie.org.

Can’t wait to hear from you.

I praise you God because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

PSALM 139: 14-16
