Hey Kids and Kids at heart!
Welcome to Different Isn’t Bad Christmas countdown.
Have you ever seen a deer? How about an Elk? What about a reindeer??
I have. In fact, one day as I was sitting on my deck up at our cabin I watched a mama deer as she led her babies out of our little magical forest -that’s what I call it, to find another safe place to sleep for the night.
During Christmas time we often hear more about reindeer than we do about deer or elk. Maybe it’s because we like to imagine them pulling Santa’s sleigh with all of our presents.
Reindeer are fun but Christmas is much more something much more important. It’s about Jesus who came to this earth to bring great joy to the world.
Today’s story is one of my new favorite fiction stories. Fiction means it’s made up. Just like Miss Robin created the stories of Stubby the Cat. I love fiction. God has given me a gift to write stories that come out of my imagination. I hope that as you listen to today’s made up story by Nicola Killen, it will bring a smile to your face and a jingle to your ears.
Now onto today’s featured presentation.
Here we go!
So now it’s your turn, kids. Pause the podcast and discuss the questions with someone you love and trust
- What woke Ollie up from her sleep?
- Where did Ollie find the collar circled with silver bells?
- Instead of riding through the forest where did the little reindeer take Ollie?
- Who needed the little reindeer’s help that night?
- What did Ollie find when she woke up the next morning?
Thank you for being with me today. Miss Robin loves this time of year. She likes playing Christmas music, wrapping presents for her family and seeing all the lights in the neighborhood.
Sometimes she even takes a drive with her husband up to the mountains where she can see the snow. That might seem funny if you live in the snow but Miss Robin lives in the desert so white snow makes it feel more like Christmas to her.
Stubby the Cat loves Christmas too. In fact, he loves it so much you could call him Stubby the tinsel tail.
I could imagine him now, getting all tangled up in the tinsel with a blinking red light on his nose. Sort of like Rudolph the rednosed reindeer!! Wouldn’t that be a funny made up story?
If you haven’t met Stubby the Cat go back and listen to episodes 1-11.
Miss Robin has written many made up stories called “Fiction” about Stubby who is a real cat that lives in her backyard.
Well, our time together has ended but you can be sure of one thing, I’ll be back next week to tell you another Christmas countdown story. Make sure your adults subscribe to this podcast so you don’t miss any of them.
As always, your loved ones can find Miss Robin in lots of places. On Instagram, Facebook and Spotify, Apple and Google podcast platforms and at my special place www.robinmarie.org.
Can’t wait to be with you again.
