Room for a Little One

Hey Kids and Kids at heart!

Welcome to the Different Isn’t Bad Christmas countdown.

Only 14 more days until Christmas!!

I hope you’ve been enjoying the stories I’ve shared. I know I’ve enjoyed reading them to you.

Christmas is special to Miss Robin. Not because of the presents or the good food and bright lights, those are fun but because I know the real reason we celebrate. Do you?

I know Jesus! You can find his story in a book called the Bible. Christmas is Jesus’ birthday? It’s a birthday that people all around the world set aside to remember.

How would you like everyone around the world to remember your birthday? Wow, that would be something!

Jesus is so important that the whole world has a party for Him!

But he didn’t come to the world the way you and I did. He wasn’t born in a hospital or in a warm house, he was born in a stable with animals.

That’s how important animals are to God. They were the first to meet baby Jesus besides his mother Mary and earthly father Joseph.

Can you imagine! Sheep and cows and who knows what other animals got to be there when Jesus was born!!

Today’s story is a made up story written by Martin Waddell called Room for a Little One.

It’s about a kind Ox who invites many different animals into his stable and then invites a donkey who is carrying a mama about to have a baby.

A Special baby!

Listen as we find out just what Kind Ox did and who that baby was.

Stay tuned after the story for questions and a special Christmas message from Miss Robin.

Ready, set, here we go!

So now it’s your turn, kids. Pause the podcast and discuss the questions with someone you love and trust

  1. Name the animals that Kind Ox invited into the stable.
  2. What kind of animal brought Mary the mother of Jesus to the stable?
  3. What could you do to be kind just like Kind Ox was?

I love that God used animals to tell some of His stories in the Bible. We know for sure that Shepards brought sheep to see Jesus when he was born. Sometimes we call Jesus the Good Shepherd because he is kind and is always ready to go find that little lamb that gets lost.

Just like children who often disobey our parents, little lambs often don’t listen to the shepherd and get lost. But the good shepherd finds them and brings them back to the safety of their home.

Isn’t it great to know that Jesus is always watching over us and taking care of us?

When Miss Robin was only 3 years old I asked Jesus to be my good shepherd and you can too.

If you’ve never asked him into your heart you can do it today. That would be the best Christmas gift you could ever get!

You could say something like this:

“Jesus, I know I don’t always obey my mommy and daddy or you. But I want to. Would you come into my heart and help me. Would you be my good shepherd?

It says’ in the Bible that when we ask Jesus to come in, He will. Then he will help us to live a kinder, braver different life.

If you asked Jesus to be your good shepherd I’m so excited for you! You are now part of the family of God! It’s important that you get to know Jesus now by reading all about him in the Bible.

If you don’t have a Bible, Miss Robin would love to give you one. Just have your loved ones send me an email with the Bible in the subject line.

You can find all my information on my website at www.robinmarie.org.

Your loved ones can also find me on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and now MeWe and Parlor.

Until next time!!

Merry Christmas!!

I praise you God because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

PSALM 139: 14-16
